HIGH SCHOOL: Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, Minn.

MAJORS: Biology and psychology

CONCENTRATION: Neuroscience

WHY I CHOSE ST. OLAF: Excellent science department and medical school acceptance rates, the ability to continue my running career

CROSS COUNTRY HISTORY: All-MIAC and All-Region in 2011. This year, I won the St. Olaf Invitational and placed third at the Roy Griak Invitational.

FAVORITE SPORTS MOVIE: “Without Limits”

FAVORITE TV SHOW: “Family Guy”

FAVORITE RESTAURANT: Texas Roadhouse

THREE FAMOUS PERSONALITIES I’D HAVE OVER FOR DINNER: Will Ferrell, Ghengis Khan and Albert Einstein

FAVORITE SPORT OTHER THAN CROSS COUNTRY: To watch: cycling. To play: volleyball.

FAVORITE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE: Chris Froome or Galen Rupp

FAVORITE BOOK: “Unbroken” and “The Green Mile”

BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE SPORTS: The amount of time you need to put in to succeed. Lots more summer mileage and higher intensity speed workouts.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT AS AN OLE ATHLETE: Beating Hamline at the Central Region Championships last year to automatically qualify for the national meet

BEST ADVICE I’VE RECEIVED: Just leave it all out on the course. Give it your best, and finish on empty.

PLANS AFTER OLAF: Medical school, probably focusing on neurology
