Microfiction Corner: A COVID Romance

Variety_MicrofictionCorner_10-08_Kenzie_Todd

Another dull morning as the glow from my computer grates on my eyes. My screen is filled with boxes of small, inconsequential names. Our professor drones on. Instagram takes attention. Suddenly, a small red notification appears at the bottom of my screen. I’ve received a private chat.

“Hey! This class is so boring — I can’t focus at all. Am I alone?”

“Haha no I’m right there too.”

I can’t really see what he looks like, so I pin his screen. He’s cute.

“Wanna grab lunch in the caf sometime?”

“Yes!”

I guess I need to wash my cutest mask.
