Not so Far Away

Contributing Writer

The chatter of people harmonizes with the song of

chirping birds and rustling leaves,

a melody as sweet as lemonade.

Nature’s outreaching hands caress tiny buds of new life.

They emerge,

awaking from the bitter cold.

A warmth engulfs the gloominess of winter,

As it retreats under the blades of vibrant green.

Wisps of clouds twirl amongst the sea of blue

In a sea of papers, deadlines, and obligations

we find calmness in the ripples,

awaking from our own hibernation

We join again

Prancing, laughing,

enjoying each other’s company.

In the sun

we join

to feel the warmth once more.
