Golf places seventh in MIAC

The men’s and women’s golf teams both finished seventh at the MIAC Championships held Oct. 5-7.

The women’s team was looking to defend MIAC crowns they had claimed in both of the last two seasons. However, it wasn’t to be, as the team finished seventh in the 11-team conference meet. Nadia Baka ’15 finished the event in a tie for 13th place. Baka shot an 87 to finish 29 over par. Maxine Carlson ’15 was the Oles’ next highest finisher at 17th overall.

The men’s team equalled their 2012-2013 finish of seventh place in the MIAC. Charlie Johnson ’16 shot an 80 on the final day to finish in 18th position overall. He ended the event four strokes ahead of St. Olaf’s next best finisher, J.R. Shimpach ’15, who finished tied for 28th place.
