Annual event breaks gender stereotypes

Drag Ball gives opportunity for dancing, drag and expression

On April 27 in the Lion’s Pause, GLOW! (Gay, Lesbian or Whatever!) sponsored Drag Ball as the final event during Pride Week. Drag Ball is the annual Pause dance where students are encouraged to dress in drag.  The event is meant to break preconceived notions about gender and allow sstudents to express themselves anyway they choose.

This year, Drag Ball featured music by Shannon Blowtorch and drag performance by Esme’s Traveling Show and Tell. The show included performances on stage from practiced drag entertainers as well as St. Olaf students. After the dance, the guest performers held a Q&A panel.
