Torres, Kaitlyn “Evie,” 21, of Waukegan, IL, was born on Feb. 12, 2002, and died Jan. 17, 2024.

Evie was a kind, conscientious, caring individual who excelled in art and writing. Quiet, thoughtful, and introspective, Evie typically needed a bit of time to warm up to people. However, once she did, she was an excellent confidant and a selfless friend who always put the needs of others above her own. All the while, Evie carried a wonderful sense of humor, a profound level of appreciation, and a smile that could lift the spirits of everyone in her presence. Evie will be deeply missed by everyone lucky enough to have gotten to know her.

Evie was academically gifted and an active member of the Waukegan community, including being recognized for her community service efforts as a high school student. Her passion and talent for the arts was felt through her art pieces. She was commonly found in the mug library at St. Olaf College working on her latest piece amongst her fellow artists.

Evie is survived in death by her mother Rosa Arnold; sibling Brianna Torres; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. She will earn a posthumous degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, which she attended.
